<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shape controlling method for suppressing the defect in shape by an edge wave which occurs in the involute part of a metal strip when rolling a material to be rolled and winding it around a sleeve as the metal strip. <P>SOLUTION: This method includes a stage where the information of a sleeve which is used next is obtained from the discrimination/management information by discriminating and managing all sleeves, a stage where the information of the material to be rolled which is rolled and wound around the sleeve as the metal strip is obtained, a stage where the state of the edge wave which occurs in the involute part of the next metal strip wound around the sleeve is predicted on the basis of these obtained informations and the actual informations which are accumulated in the data base up to now, and a stage where the shape in the tip part of the metal strip is controlled so that the strip becomes the state of the center wave in a level where the predicted state of the edge wave is compensated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
