PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diamond pellet, its manufacturing method and a surface plate for grinding machine which can be used effectively and does not waste diamond. SOLUTION: In the diamond pellet 13 used by being bonded to a bed plate of the surface plate for grinding machine, on the side of bonding to the bed plate of a first layer 11 to be the diamond pellet body in which metal powders with diamond abrasive grains scattered are sintered, a second layer 12 in which metal powders not including the diamond abrasive grains is integrally sintered.
