PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide material for an energization piece for a wire-cut electric discharge machine, an energization piece, and a method for manufacturing the same, capable of achieving excellent abrasion resistance, heat resistance, and long service life by controlling metal elements to be added to WC-Co cemented carbide material and their quantity. SOLUTION: This material is used for the energization piece for the wire-cut electric discharge machine. To ultrafine particles of WC of grain size of 0.5μm or less, powder of Co is added by 2.0 wt.% or less, and at least one kind selected among a group of Mo, Cr<SB>3</SB>C<SB>2</SB>, VC, and NbC in powder is added in desired quantity to make mixed powder. It is then sintered by pulse energization pressure sintering to form a sintered body.
