Process for fixing a packer (1) in a building part made of solid mineral building material comprises inserting the packer in a hole (10) leading into the building part from the outer surface of the building part, introducing a liquid fixing material (11) between the outer surface of the packer and an inner surface of the hole, and solidifying the fixing material so that the packer is held in the hole by the solidified fixing material. The fixing material is a material which foams on introduction into the hole and solidifies as a foam. An Independent claim is also included for an assembly consisting of a packer for carrying out the above process. Preferred Features: The fixing material is introduced via a cannula.
