A method and system to implement seller authorized bidding within a networked-based auction facility are disclosed. In particular, the method includes the step of receiving (1722) a request to transact for a particular item that is described by a sales listing from a first party that is not pre-approved to transact for the particular item that is described by the sales listing. The first party is disqualified and disabled (1736) from transacting for the particular item. The disqualifying and disabling being based on a requirement that the first party be pre-approved to transact for the particular item that is described by the sales listing and identifying the first party as not being pre-approved. The method further includes the step of communicating (1738, 1740) error information, over a network, to the first party. The error information indicates that transacting for the item is restricted to pre-approved parties. The steps of the method are done at least in part through the use of one or more processors.
