PURPOSE: A video terminal device having a function to display a virtual background and a method for implementing the same are provided to enable a user to transmit another virtual background to the other party, if the user does not desire to expose the background of a current position. CONSTITUTION: A camera part(10) shoots a user image. An image processing part(30) extracts only a face of a user from the user image, and mixes the extracted face with a predetermined virtual background for outputting. A display part(40) displays an image outputted from the image processing part. In the image processing part, an image capture unit(31) captures the user and background outputted from the camera part in an image file. An image extracting unit(32) extracts the face of the user from the user image. A memory(33) stores a plurality of backgrounds. An image mixing unit(34) mixes the extracted face with the background outputted from the memory, for outputting. |
