<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance method of a print system, a print system and a maintenance program in which maintenance of a nozzle can be carried out sufficiently regardless of the kind of ink and a good print can be obtained. <P>SOLUTION: When cleaning operation is carried out, attribute information of ink contained in each ink cartridge (whether it is a dye ink or a pigment ink) is attained from the nonvolatile memory of each ink cartridge (step S15). Based on the attribute information of ink thus attained, the CPU of a printer sets the number of suction times of a pump for sucking ink in the nozzle, the number of wiping times of a member for wiping/cleaning the nozzle opening, and the like, (step S16).
