<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary press in which a design reference position of a plate cylinder can be accurately and easily positioned at an initial printing position and a preparing time up to a start of printing can be shortened, and to provide a method for correcting the initial position of the plate cylinder of the press. <P>SOLUTION: The rotary press 1 comprises rotary drive means 22 to 26 having plate cylinders 15 to 19, an impression cylinder 20, an angle reference position and a design reference position on each of the cylinders 15 to 19, and a positioning function for rotatably driving the cylinders 15 to 19, and a control means 40 for controlling the means 22 to 26. Thus, the means 22 to 26 are rotatably controlled by the means 40 until the design reference positions of the cylinders 15 to 19 coincide with the starting position of printing. Accordingly, the design reference position of the cylinder can be accurately positioned at the initial position, and the preparing time of starting printing can be shortened. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
