PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combine harvester that can suppress the posture disturbance of cut culms by separating the cut culms conveyed by a feed chain from the cut culms raised up by a mounting cover, even when the mounting cover for hand-cut culms is shifted to the declutching position by discontinuing the clutch for a culm-cutting and conveying unit. SOLUTION: The culm transfer structure is provided with the culm-cutting and conveying unit in front of the traveling machine body, a threshing unit 4 on the traveling machine body, a feed chain 7 for conveying the cut culms, and a mounting cover 9 for hand-cut culms is made switchable between the action site for mounting the hand-cut culms as it projects upward and the non- action site that withdraws downward at the edge 7a for starting conveyance of the feed chain 7. When the clutch 25 of the culms-cutting and conveying unit is disconnected, the mounting cover 9 moves to the action site and when the clutch 25 is connected, moves to the non-action site. When the mounting cover 9 sifts from the non-action site to the action site, the corner 9a of the mounting cover 9 is plunged into the cut culms on the feed chain 8 at rectangle or a sharp angle.
