ENDOSCOPE GUIDE DEVICE AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To judge the position of the distal end of an endoscope simply and with high accuracy.

SOLUTION: In order to guide an endoscope, a virtual endoscope image of a subject to be tested and information on the position and attitude of the distal end of the endoscope are stored in a database. When the actual soft endoscope image of the subject to be tested is obtained, the actual endoscope image is compared with the virtual endoscope image in the database to determina the virtual endoscope image having the highest similarity to the endscope image. According to the information on the determined virtual endoscope image, the position and attitude of the distal end of the soft endoscope corresponding to the actual endoscope image is determined.
