<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic separating apparatus and a magnetic separating method for separating a substance which is to be separated and consists of a cell, plankton and protein or the like with high purity without destroying it. <P>SOLUTION: This magnetic separating apparatus has means 9, 10 for supplying a solution which is to be treated and contains objects which are to be separated and have electric conductivity, a separation flow passage 8a for fluidizing the solution which is to be treated and supplied by the means 9, 10, electrodes 11, 12 for applying a DC current through the objects to be separated to the solution which is to be treated and is fluidized in the passage 8a, a magnetic field generating means for applying a magnetic field to the direction perpendicular to the direction of the DC current and means 18a to 18e for separating the objects which are to be separated and separated in the passage 8a into constituents and withdrawing each of the separated constituents. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
