PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound insulator used for the external walls of a building, which is well fit in place, easy to install and excellent in sound insulation. SOLUTION: A 1.0 mm thick damper sheet was obtained, which consisted of 100 pts.wt. of chlorinated polyethylene and 150 pts.wt. of chlorinated paraffin with carbon number 14. Tanδis 3.0. A sound insulator 8 is produced by sticking together 0.4 mm thick steel plates, as the binding sheet without any adhesive. A concrete plate (100 mm thick) is used as an external wall material 1, a plaster board (12.5 mm thick) is used as an internal material 10, and a rectangular frame 3 made of a steel stud with the dimensions of 0.6 mm in thickness, 20 mm in depth and 40 mm in width is used as a supporting member 2. The binding sheet 6 side surfaces of sound insulators 8 are respectively stuck with the frame side surfaces of external wall material 1 and internal material 10 facing each other, over an area 9 corresponding to the space within the supporting member 2, thus making a sound insulating building external wall.
