PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat fixing device for dissolving the dark images of an OHT sheet or the like and the lack of color reproduction, eliminating paper wrinkles and securing excellent fixation. SOLUTION: The heat fixing device comprises at least: a heating body for generating heat by energizing; a means for detecting the temperature of the heating body; a heat resistant film traveling while covering a part of the heating body; and a pressurizing member to be brought into press contact with the energized heating body through the heat resistant film. The heat resistant film is composed of at least two layers of a base layer and an elastic layer. In the case of defining the inner peripheral length of a longitudinal direction center part as L1, the outer peripheral length of the longitudinal direction center part as L2, the inner peripheral length of an end part area as L3 and the outer peripheral length of the end part area as L4, the base layer is in a shape for which the relation of L1<L3 and L2<L4 is established. The elastic layer is applied following the shape of the base layer, and in the case of defining the inner peripheral length of the longitudinal direction center part as L1, the outer peripheral length as L5, the inner peripheral length of the end part area as L3 and the outer peripheral length as L6, the relation of L1<L3 and L5<L6 is established in the final shape.
