PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator hoist separating a bearing part of a rotating body having a drive sheave on an outer circumferential surface thereof from a braking surface provided on an inner circumferential surface of a cavity opened in one side surface of the rotating body. SOLUTION: A demarcating plate 26 is provided in the cavity 24 of the rotating body 23 to demarcate the braking surface 11 side provided on the inner circumferential surface of the cavity 24 and the drive sheave 9 side provided on the outer circumferential surface of the rotating body 23. Oil which is separated from grease used in a bearing provided on the drive sheave 9 side of the rotating body 23 due to the use for a long time or the temperature rise is prevented from trickling on an inner surface of the cavity 24 of the rotating body 23 and reaching the braking surface 11 by the demarcating plate 26. Troubles that the oil separated from grease used in the bearing of the rotating body 23 is adhered to the braking surface 11 and no required braking effect by the braking mechanism 12 are obtained can be prevented in advance.
