PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tool with a sensor which can prevent a short between conductive film parts which are separated by a conductive area in a sensor circuit for detecting the service life of a cutting blade, and which is excellent in fracture resistance, and stability for normal operation. SOLUTION: In the cutting tool with the sensor which is provided with the sensor circuit for detecting the service life of the cutting blade on the surface of a conductive base material 3 coated with an insulating layer 2, the sensor circuit is formed in such a manner that an area 4 having a higher electric resistance value than any other area in a part of the conductive film 1, the area 4 containing an oxide of a component element of the conductive film including at least one of TiN, TiC, TiCN, and TiAIN.
