PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilized pack of cooked rice containing devil's tongue, holding the cooked rice and the devil's tongue in homogeneously mixed state to keep good palatability, useful as a low-caloric instant food served simply by heating in a microwave oven, suitable for dietary and preservable over a long period, and provide a method for producing the sterilized pack of the devil's tongue-containing cooked rice. SOLUTION: The rice and devil's tongue particles having nearly equal the size to cooked and swollen rice are charged at a prescribed ratio into a steam rice-cooker 9 in a chamber 8 placed in a clean room 1 and a stealized gas is circulated in the chamber. The devil's tongue-containing cooked rice is put into a cooked rice stirrer 10 and sufficiently stirred to obtain the devil's tongue-containing cooked rice particles in homogeneously mixed state and having a soft and bulky feeling. The cooked rice discharging port of the cooked rice stirrer is opened, the devil's tongue-containing cooked rice is transferred to a packing apparatus 11 having a leveling function and a delivering quantity metering function, a prescribed quantity of the devil's tongue- containing cooked rice is packed in a tray T. The tray is covered with a cover film F1 and the circumferential edge of the film is heat-sealed to the flange of the tray. |
