<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure pulse wave detector capable of determining a pushing force (optimal pushing force) appropriate for approximately flattening a part of a blood vessel wall without any operation of approximately completely squashing the blood vessel. SOLUTION: This pressure pulse wave detector is provided with a pressure pulse wave sensor having multiple pressure sensing elements disposed in the width direction of an artery for pushing the artery on a pushing surface and a pushing device pushing the pressure pulse wave sensor from the skin toward the artery. In SA9, a time differenceΔT between a time when a rising point of the pressure pulse wave is detected by a maximum pressure detecting element EM and a time when the rising point of the pressure pulse wave is detected by a pressure sensing element E (comparison element EC) disposed next to the maximum pressure detecting element is calculated. In SA10, if the time differenceΔT is a preset upper limit time TH1 or less, the pushing force of the pressure pulse wave sensor 36 is detected to be the optimal pushing force. This constitution can determine the optimal pushing force without any operation of approximately completely squashing the blood vessel.</p> |
