he invention relates to a subsidiary brake aiming at improving the safety of moving vehicles. Slipping roadways, sudden braking and various other factors are responsible for accidents occurred by diversion of the vehicle's course. The braking system in question is composed of a plate 10 of durable material placed between the rear wheels 3 and behind the vehicle's gravity centre. This plate is urged downwardly against the pavement via a mechanism 2 to stop the moving vehicle coming back to its initial position; pushed by means of the levers 2, or the piston 25, or the air bag 15, same plate can bear nails 21 able to get out from its underside surface, in an emergency; it is planar or curved in form and fixed with articulated rods, or chains on the chassis of the vehicle, or on the axles of the two rear wheels thereof (see fig.1,2). |
