Propylene is polymerised in the gas phase using Ziegler catalyst where 1 pt. wt. of a mixture of the catalyst components is mixed at a temp at least 20 degrees C below the expected polymn temp with 10-5000 pbw. of a finely divided polymer. The mixture is then heated to produce at least 1000 pts polymer per pt. catalyst per hr.
