A shower tub (1) has a side wall (2) including a section which can be removed in order to provide access to a drain beneath the tub. A section of the side wall is cut out to leave a space which extends down to the floor (T) on which the tub rests. This space is sealed by a plug (6) made from synthetic resin or polymer and having a shape corresponding to that of the space, allowing the plug to be repeatedly removed and replaced.
