METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES CONNECTED BY HOME NETWORK

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for controlling household appliances connected by a home network are provided to conveniently and efficiently control the operation of a household appliance for which a user wishes, under complex home network environment. CONSTITUTION: An action library(200) stores action data for controlling household appliances(700) connected by a home network. A voice recognizing unit(50) receives a voice command of a user, and recognizes the received voice command as a character command. A command analyzing unit(100) extracts an action and object from the recognized character command, and converts the extracted action and object into a logical command. An action plan unit(300) extracts an action list including serial actions from the logical command with reference to the action library(200). A device control unit(400) converts the serial actions included in the action list into household appliance control signals, and controls the household appliances(700) connected by the home network.
