PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for adaptively controlling a power in a Bluetooth system are provided to quickly solve the environment of a wireless channel, such as a fading or a shadowing, by adaptively changing a step size of power control, using a power control LMP(Link Manager Protocol) command and controlling a transmission power. CONSTITUTION: A power strength measurement unit(122) measures a power strength of a signal received through a baseband/RF(Radio Frequency) module(121), and outputs a power strength measurement value. A memory(124) stores a previous power control LMP command. A step size control unit(125) decides a current power control step size on the basis of the power strength measurement value and the previous power control LMP value, and outputs the decided power control step size to the baseband/RF module(121).
