A disk device, comprising a pickup (2) installed on a chassis (1) so as to be moved close to and apart from the center of a disk, a guide shaft (4) extending in the direction of movement of the pickup (2) for fitting the pick up (2) thereto, and an adjusting mechanism changing the inclination angle of the guide shaft (4) in a plane including the direction of movement of the pickup (2) and perpendicular to the upper surface of the chassis (1), the adjusting mechanism further comprising a bracket (9) holding the end part of the guide shaft (4), a compressive spring (50) energizing the guide shaft (4), and an adjusting screw (6) pressing the guide shaft (4) against the compressive spring (50), wherein a boss (95) is formed inside the compressive spring (50), the height of the boss (95) is such that the pickup (2) does not come into contact with the chassis (1) when the guide shaft (4) comes into contact with the boss (95), a wall (96) is formed on the guide part of the bracket (9), and the height of the wall (96) is such that the pickup (2) does not come into contact with the chassis (1) when the guide shaft (4) comes into contact with the wall(96). <IMAGE>
