DNA ENCODING LACTATE DEHYDROGENASE AND UTILIZATION THEREOF

It is intended to provide a gene expression system with an improved efficiency by correcting incomplete expression of a higher eucaryotic gene in a foreign organism such as a yeast typified by Saccharomyces cerevisiae. A DNA having one of the following characteristics (a) and (b): (a) encoding a protein having a lactate dehydrogenase activity and having the base sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1; and (b) being hybridizable with a DNA comprising the whole base sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1 or a part thereof or its complementary strand under stringent conditions and having a base sequence encoding a protein having a lactate dehydrogenase activity.
