PURPOSE: A method for managing a taxi service, using an ITS(Intelligent Transport System) is provided to efficiently manage the taxi service by automatically retrieving positions of taxis, using the ITS, when a passenger inputs taxi request information on a display unit and transmitting taxi request information of the passenger to the nearest taxi. CONSTITUTION: A passenger, who wants to get into a taxi, inputs taxi request information, using a display unit installed in a taxi platform(S101). A roadside base station connected to the display unit receives inputted taxi request information, and transmits received taxi request information to a taxi service management server connected with a communication network(S102). The taxi service management server judges whether taxi request information is received from a display unit of any position, and confirms the current position of the passenger(S103). The taxi service management server receives empty taxi information from the roadside base station near the display unit(S104). The taxi service management server retrieves the nearest empty taxi, transmits taxi request information to the roadside base station of a communication area in which the empty taxi exists, for transmitting taxi request information to the empty taxi(S105). If the empty taxi moves to the position of the display unit(S106), the passenger gets into the empty taxi(S107).
