PURPOSE: A feed supplement containing high molecular weight chitosan and a salt thereof as an effective ingredient, together with photosynthetic bacteria, activated carbon and illite to double a physiological activity is provided. Therefore, it enhances the digestion and growth of fishes even at low temperature. CONSTITUTION: A feed supplement contains 0.01 to 3% by weight of high molecular weight chitosan having a molecular weight of 20,000 to 1,000,000 and a salt thereof, 5 to 15% by weight of photosynthetic bacteria, 10 to 20% by weight of activated carbon, 10 to 20% by weight of illite and 40 to 60% by weight of cereal bran. The photosynthetic bacteria are selected from the group consisting of Rhodopseudomonas palustris, Rhodopseudomonas spheroides, Lactobacillus paracasei, Candida valida and Streptomyces albus. The cereal bran is defatted bran, rice bran, oil cake or fish cake.
