A label relating to a service accessible on a web server (110) is determined using a web server (106), is returned to the first user (104) and may be included in a permission, which can then be delegated (108) to enable access to the service. In some cases, upon transmitting the label via a messaging system, information based on the label and the public key of the recipient is automatically stored on the web server. In other cases, a first permission, including a label related to a service, is maintained at a web server. A user is provided access to the first permission upon his authenticating to the web server and is provided a permission to access the service. In still other cases, a permission is included in a single electronic message that is to be sent to multiple recipients via a messaging system. The message is automatically processed by the web server upon its receipt from a recipient seeking access to the service.
