FIELD: varnish-and-paint industry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to coating composition for in-door and out-door painting of buildings and constructions on brick, concrete, plastered, wood, and other surfaces of porous building materials, including old coatings. Composition contains: butyl acrylate/styrene copolymer in the form of 50% aqueous dispersion FINNDISP-10 (film former); silicon dioxide Aerosil A-300 (thickener); organic derivatives of smectite clay BENTON LT; cellulose hydroxyethyl ether NATROSOL TR-117, acrylic latex POLYPHOBE TR-117; pigments, filler, crystalline calcium carbonate or chalk; mineral oil: mixture of unsaturated fatty acid esters with hydrophobic silica (antifoaming additive); 2,2,4-trimethyl-1,3-pentadiol monoisobutyrate (coalescing additive); sodium polyphosphate (dispersing additive); pigment dispersant OROTAN 731K; thiuram D and solution isothiazolinone derivatives: 1,2-hydroxy- 5,8,11-trioxadodecane, 1,3-bis(hydroxymethyl)urea, 1,6-hydroxy-2,5-dioxahexane (preservatives); sodium hydroxide or 25% aqueous ammonia (pH regulator); ethylene glycol and di(2-ethylhexyl)sebacate (antifreeze); tributyl phosphate (plasticizer); alkylphenol polyoxyethylene ether OP-7 or OP-10 (surfactant); turpentine; and water, all in specified proportions. Resulting coatings show high viscosity characteristics at 20+/- 0.5 C: 90-98 s, frost resistance 30-40 cycles, spreading capacity of films 44-50 g/sq.m. and film brightness 51- 59%.
