FIELD: composites. SUBSTANCE: invention provides cermets containing one solid component and Co-Ni-Fe-binder, which is advantageously characterized by that, even in the case of its plastic deformation, binder retains its face-centered cubic structure and is free of stresses and/or deformations inducing phase transformations. Binder contains 40-90% cobalt, the rest being nickel, iron, and accidental impurities provided that content of each nickel and iron is at least 4% but no more than 36% and Ni:Fe varies between 1.5:1 and 1: 1.5. One solid component contains at least one carbide, nitride, carbonitride, their mixtures, and their solid solutions. Cermets are suited to be used as tools in mining and building industry, for machining of materials and for stamping of screw heads. EFFECT: increased strength of composites. 30 cl, 6 tbl, 22 dwg
