PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the time required for a user to complete an image editing process. SOLUTION: A CPU displays an aurora brush mode editing image on a monitor for confirmation/editing and receives input in a step S191, decides whether or not the start coordinates of an aurora brush are inputted in a step S192 and stands by until it is decided that they are inputted. When deciding that the start coordinates are inputted, the CPU advances to a step S193 and records the inputted start coordinates. In a step S194, the CPU decides whether or not the end coordinates of the aurora brush are inputted and stands by until it is decided that they are inputted. When deciding that the end coordinates are inputted, the CPU advances to a step S195, sets a rectangular area on the upper side in the figure of a straight line whose end points are the inputted start coordinates and end coordinates and plots a prescribed pattern in the rectangular area.
