PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information transmission system in which entire transmission efficiency is improved. SOLUTION: A CPU 21 of a scanner 11 transmits a control signal for a communication start through a communication interface 23 by using an FTP (file transfer protocol) with an IP over IEEE1394 protocol in transmitting image information. A printer 12 side receives the control signal through a serial communication interface 33 and returns an ACK (acknowledgement) response. The scanner 11 side receiving the acknowledgement response transmits the image information being substantive information in an IEEE1394 asynchronous mode, and the printer 12 receives the image information through the serial communication interface 33.
