PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure the weight of a gas adsorbed to a sample in a tubular hermetic container 11. SOLUTION: A magnetic float composed of a sample container 21, a hollow shaft 22, a ferromagnetic attraction plate 23, and an upper and lower permanent magnets 24, 25 is vertically settled in a tubular hermetic container 11. The magnetic float is floated by a magnetic repulsive attraction force in a tubular fixing member composed of an outer tube 33 disposed so as to noncontactly contain the tubular hermetic container 11, a floating position controlling electromagnet 30, and an upper and lower tubular magnets 31, 32. An electronic balance 16 mounted on the tubular fixing member bottom measures the total weight of the fixing member and the magnetic float, thereby accurately measuring the weight change of a sample 20 in the sample container 21 settled on the magnetic float top.
