PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical ice machine capable of eliminating deicing unevenness without impairing the space-saving advantage of the vertical ice machine. SOLUTION: This vertical ice machine is provided with an ice making chamber 1 vertically placed having a plurality of ice making small chambers 3 opened to the front face side, and a refrigerant pipe 4 arranged in close contact on the back face side; and a water tray tiltably arranged facing the opening side of the ice making small chambers and mounted with a water supply pipe 15 for supplying water stored in an ice making water tank during deicing operation. The ice making chamber 1 and water tray 8 are supported to a frame 2. A branch pipe 15b branched from the water supply pipe 15 sprinkles water on the back face of the ice making chamber during deicing operation. The side face and back face lower part of the ice making chamber may be heated with hot gas in addition to sprinkling of water by the water supply pipe or instead of sprinkling of water.
