PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner causing no oil shortage. SOLUTION: The air conditioner comprises: heat source side units 10 and 20 having main piping 4 consisting of a discharge pipe, a suction pipe and a liquid pipe, a compressor 11 where its discharge pipe is connected to the discharge pipe and its suction pipe to the suction pipe, and a heat source side heat exchanger 21 connected to the liquid pipe at one end and to the discharge pipe and the suction pipe at the other end via a selector valve; and a plurality of user side units 30 each having a user side heat exchanger connected to the liquid pipe at one end via a decompression valve and to the discharge pipe and the suction pipe at the other. An oil separator 80 is provided in the discharge pipe 1 which constitutes the main piping 4 and a return pipe 81 is provided for returning the oil separated by the oil separator 80 to the compressor.
