PURPOSE: A laser apparatus for projecting image having a multichannel sound optical modulator, a method for driving the same, and a circuit for driving the same are provided to improve image processing capacity of optical modulators and scanning speed of optical scanning elements. CONSTITUTION: An optical modulating unit(P2) is formed of multichannel sound optical modulators including at least six or more optical modulating channels to optically modulate a plurality of red, green, and blue beams at the same time. A light source unit(10) emits beams to be used for projecting an image. A first optical path change element(21) changes a path of the beams. First and second optical transmitting/reflecting units(67a,68a) sequentially separate first and second beams from the beams entered from the first optical path change element. A second first optical path change element(69a) changes a path of the beams entered from the second optical transmitting/reflecting unit. First to third monochromatic light dividing elements(26,27,28) equally divides the beams as many as the optical modulating channels. First to third lens groups(64a,65a,66a) focus the beams entered from the monochromatic light dividing elements on the channels formed at the optical modulators.
