<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus for decoding an MPEG stream into an image with high image quality. <P>SOLUTION: A pre-processing section 11 applies dequantization to a two-dimensional DCT coefficient in the MPEG stream and outputs the result. A classification section 13 applies one-dimensional inverse DCT coefficient to a two-dimensional DCT coefficient outputted from the pre-processing section 11 to obtain the one-dimensional DCT coefficient and classifies pixels configuring image data into any of a plurality of classes on the basis of the one-dimensional DCT coefficient. A tap coefficient storage section 14 acquires and outputs a tap coefficient corresponding to a class outputted from the classification section 13, and an image reconfiguration section 15 performs linear primary prediction arithmetic operation using the two-dimensional DCT coefficient outputted from the pre-processing section 11 and the tap coefficient outputted from the tap coefficient storage section 14 to obtain a decoded image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
