PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize fluorescence-intensity enhancement beads, whose surface area is increased and whose treatment is made easy by a method, wherein the surface of a very small spherical substance is coated in the same manner as a fluorescence-intensity enhancement chip so as to be changed into a bead. SOLUTION: The fluorescence-intensity enhancement bead is constituted, in such a way that a metal film is formed on the surface of a spherical nucleus, that a dielectric layer is formed on the surface of the metal film and that the intensity of fluorescence generated from a fluorescent substance existing on the surface of the dielectric layer is enhanced.
