摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately acquire information on the location or size of a section to be detected to which an organism-related substance is immobilized even in a specimen of a low fluorescent intensity and a microarray of a low arrangement accuracy. SOLUTION: In this apparatus (1) for reading the microarray, fluorescence emitted by a fluorescent substance is read from the microarray (A) in which sections except the section to which the organism-related substance is immobilized are opaquely formed. The apparatus (1) for reading the microarray comprises a light source (2) for transmission for transmitting light through the microarray, a light source (6) for excitation for exciting the fluorescent substance present in the section, an image pickup means (4) for both picking up the image of light shone from the light source for transmission and transmitted through the microarray and picking up the image of the fluorescence emitted by the fluorescent substance excited by the light source for excitation, and a detecting means (5) for detecting the location and/or size of the section arranged on the microarray on the basis of the image of light picked up by the image pickup means and transmitted through the microarray.
