PURPOSE: A silicon light emitting device and a display apparatus using the same are provided to be capable of carrying out a multi-function by integrating a multi-step transistor at the silicon light emitting device. CONSTITUTION: A silicon light emitting device is provided with the first type semiconductor based substrate(11), a doped region(15) formed at one surface of the substrate, the first and second semiconductor material part(21,23) formed at the other surface of the substrate, the first electrode(13) electrically connected to the doped region, the second electrode(17) electrically connected to the first semiconductor material part, and the third electrode(19) electrically connected to the second semiconductor material part. At this time, the second semiconductor material part is made of the second type semiconductor layer and the first semiconductor material part is made of the first type semiconductor layer, thereby forming a multi-step transistor.
