摘要 <p>The combustion air for a burner or heater is mixed with organo- metallic catalytic vapors such as methyl cyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl whilst simultaneously injecting the catalytic agent in very fine droplets into the fuel, near its inflammation point, to achieve a reduction of sulfur and nitrogen oxides. A reservoir (1) containing the liquid catalytic agent (2) has a blowing nozzle (3) for the catalytic vapors which sends the vapors to a low- pressure zone (4) in the ventilator for the burners or furnace. The reservoir also has a nozzle sending the liquid catalytic agent to a dosing pump which atomizes it into very fine droplets. These droplets are carried by a nozzle to the inflammation point of the fuel. A small fraction of combustion air is drawn into the reservoir to entrain the catalytic agent in gaseous form to the nozzle (3). The total mass of combustion air is blown by a ventilator (9).</p>
