PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance thermal shock resistance of a glass substrate used for a plasma display panel or the like, to reduce breakage of the glass substrate caused during production and the like, and to provide the plasma display panels in high production yield. SOLUTION: By shaping edge portions 11 at end surfaces of a glass substrate 1 for the plasma display panel and corner portions 21 of the glass substrate rounded, the thermal shock resistance of the glass substrate used for the plasma display panel or the like is enhanced, the breakage of the glass substrate caused during the production of the plasma display panel and the like is reduced, and a high production yield of the plasma display panel is improved.
