PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect a reproduction position of a magnetooptic disk. SOLUTION: A cluster as a rewriting unit of data to the magnetooptic disk consists of 16 data sectors of 0 to 15, a preamble part added at the head of the data sector 0, and a postamble part added at the tail of the data sector 15. The preamble part and postamble part consist of 10 and 6 frames respectively. Each data sector is composed of 31 frames. Each frame consists of an FS region where a synchronizing pattern for specifying the frame is recorded and a data region where data are recorded. Synchronizing patterns which are not used for data sector FS regions are recorded in preamble FS regions of at least one or more frames among the frames of the preamble parts. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
