PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk unit equipped with a mechanisms which automatically detect a relative position shift between a magnetic head and an optical head and corrects the position shift. SOLUTION: An information storage device comprises: a laser light source; an optical head having an objective, a 1st rising mirror which reflects the laser light from the laser light source toward the objective and partially transmits it, an actuator which moves the objective, and a 2nd rising mirror which totally reflects the laser beam transmitted through the 1st rising mirror; a carriage to which the optical head is fitted; a 1st driving means of moving the carriage in a 1st direction; a magnetic head assembly having a magnetic head mounted on the carriage; and an optical detector which is mounted on the magnetic head assembly and detects the laser beam reflected by the 2nd rising mirror; and the laser beam reflected by the 2nd rising mirror and the optical detector are used to detect the relative position shift between the optical head and magnetic head.
