PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processor and its method and its program capable of acquiring prescribed information associated with articles in a simple operation without damaging the design of those articles. SOLUTION: A subject included in an imaged picture is extracted by a subject extracting part 2 based on image information generated by an image pickup part 1, and the mean color information of each extracted subject is detected by a color information detecting part 3. The color information of each extracted subject which is the most approximate to the detected mean color information while the approximation level is included in a prescribed range is retrieved from an information table 6 by a table retrieving part 4, and processing information associated with this is read from the information table 6. Then, prescribed processing is carried out by a processing part 5 according to the processing information. For example, the total sum of all the subjects included in the imaged picture is calculated from the sum information of each subject read from the information table 6. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
