PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make improvable the stability of a carriage, to be provided to a reader, with respect to an elastic body by constituting a slider which is made to slide on a guide rail with low friction, as the one of which the area of slide surface is large. SOLUTION: A member which slides on the guide rail 30 of a frame 23a of the carriage is composed of a nearly cylindrical resin-made slider 33 and guided by sliding to the elastic body 31 made of fluorocarbon resin provided on a guide surface of the guide rail 30. The slider 33 is made of a resin material like low-friction nylon with wear resistance and the slide surface which comes into contact with the guide rail is formed having large plane area to decrease a pressing force per unit area to the elastic body 31 to a small value, thereby preventing the elastic body 31 from being dented.
