PURPOSE: A ceiling suspension type air conditioner is provided to allow air exchanged heat to flow evenly in the air conditioner. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner includes a case(10) installed in a ceiling, and having an inlet(11) and an outlet(12) formed to face each other and to be connected with ducts; a blower(20) installed in the case near the outlet to introduce and discharge indoor air; a heat exchanger(30) installed in the case near the inlet to cool down the introduced indoor air; and a drain pan(40) installed on a lower end of the heat exchanger to support the heat exchanger, and collecting condensed air generated during heat exchange. The heat exchanger is placed asymmetrically in the drain pan to increase distance(L) between the blower and the heat exchanger so that distance(a) between the heat exchanger and a front end of the drain pan is larger than distance(b) between the heat exchanger and a rear end of the drain pan to allow the heat exchanger to be placed near the inlet.
