PURPOSE: A hinge engaging structure for a notebook computer is provided to continuously open and close a cover, maintain a reliable perpendicular state, and reduce the total thickness of the notebook computer. CONSTITUTION: A thick clip box(120) is mounted in a base(10). A thin fixing shaft(110) is mounted in a cover. A guide and a screw hole are formed for mounting the clip box(120) at a predetermined rear portion of the base(10). Also, a screw hole is formed at the rear surface because screw hole guides of the clip box(120) exist at two portions vertically. After setting the clip box(120) on the screw hole formed in the base(10), the clip box(120) is engaged in the screw hole using a screw. For obtaining a sufficient combining power, a plate-shaped guide is formed at the end of the fixing shaft(110). Two screw holes are formed in the plate-shaped guide. In addition, two screw holes are formed in the cover corresponding to the plate-shaped guide. The fixing shaft(110) is engaged with the cover using a screw.
