The machine for working the balk between rows of vines has a frame (9) which can be moved transversely on a parallelogram lever system (7, 8) using a hydraulic cylinder. The earth is worked by a rotary hoe tool mounted on the frame and the frame is moved when a feeler arm (13) contacts a vine stock.
