<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk drive and an optical disk recording method for satisfactorily recording on a phase change type optical disk while securing the recording interchangeability. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical disk drive 1 and the optical disk recording method, when the signal recording operation to the optical disk 20 is performed by setting an optimum recording power in accordance with the signal written in trial on the trial writing part of the phase change type optical disk 20, the signal recording operation is made to a recorded area by measuring the signal amplitude of the recorded area, when the recorded area whereon the signal is already recorded, exists on the optical disk 20, and correcting the optimum recording power to the signal optimum for substituting the recorded area in accordance with the measurement result of the signal amplitude of the recorded area. Consequently, when the signal is substituted on the recorded area, the signal is promptly and appropriately substituted while preventing the recorded signal from being put to the irreproducible state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
