<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of accomplishing the aimed color drift correction even when the thickness of a transfer belt is varied due to its use without increasing its manufacture cost. <P>SOLUTION: A black (K) registration mark 120K, a cyan (C) registration mark 120C, a magenta (M) registration mark 120M and a yellow (Y) registration mark are consecutively formed by every 1/4 rotation of each corresponding photoreceptor drum, and a unit registration pattern consisting of four (even- numbered) registration marks is formed over nearly one round of a transfer belt 16. In each unit registration pattern, space between the other registration mark and the registration mark 120K is detected. The detected space is averaged by every one round of the photoreceptor drum 1, and correction data is generated based on the averaged space. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
